Is every Game in orange box compatible with Windows 8.1

Hi, i hope im putting this in the right category but i wanna ask, is all of the games in the orange box compatible with my PC? I used windows compatibility center and half life 2 (one of the games in the orange box) is not compatible, but when i type in Orange box to windows compatibility center it is compatible. Can someone please clarify if all of the games in the orange box are compatible with my PC with windows 8.1. I really wanna play the Legendary games on my PC but i wanna make sure my operating system is going to be compatible with all of the games in the orange box,

I think they should be compatible however you may need to run some of them on compatibility mode

Thanks, another thing i did was run the demo of half Life 2 and there was no problems with the game. But when i loaded up steam after being AFK for like a hour my desktop crashed and had to reboot my PC so i don't know if that is the game or just my PC being dumb
