Hi i am planning to build a system in about week or so and wanted to know if i could run Corsair vengeance pro 2400MHz RAM on my SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 Motherboard which is suggested 1866Mhz with fx 8350 cooled by H100i, also will i manually have to do anything to run at that speed and can i under-clock if i needed to? Thanks

Can try, the 8350 is rated up to 1866 at 1 stick per channel - some 8350s can run 2133 and fewer can run 2400, so may well have to drop the freq (may not be able to run 2400), it's the MC (memory controller) that determines what actual freq you can run, not the mobo (that went out with the 775 mobos where the MC was on the mobo)

Will i need to go to BIOS and manually change anything or can i just stick 2x4GB 2400MHz RAM and expect it to run normally at that speed?

Hmm, thanks but will there be any problem if i just buy and try to use 2400MHz? i mean can i just under clock it if its not stable? also will it automatically run at 1866 if i don't change anything, as that's what the motherboard recommend?

When first installed DRAM will start up at the mobos default which is usually 1066 or 1333 for AMD rigs, and oft times at loose timings, want to look for XMP, DOCP, EOCP or AMP setting in BIOS and enable it then select the freq you want to try or set up manually
