Is The Asus GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Strix Compatible with the Sabertooth Z87 Motherboard?

I was considering Purchasing the Asus GeForce GTX 970 DirectCU II OC Strix, however I do not know whether it is compatible with the Sabertooth motherboard.

This may sound stupid but I am fairly new to computers and any help would be great.

yes it will work, as long as the motherboard have a pci 3.0 or 2.0 you can put any current gpu from amd or nvidia, you should be set as long as you have a 500w psu or more.
