Hey all

So some time ago i was doing some things in CCC and I accidentally putted the gpu clock and power limit to the max. Then My screen went black first and then felt out afterwards, but my pc was still running.

After alot of searching I was able to fix it by booting in safe mode and deleting the profile (I already rebooted like 20 times prior to this but the screen went black everytime, forcing me to manually turn the pc off). Eversince i have noticed that i have these weird flickering shadows in games. And when I move 2d textures seem to flicker to. Also edges of walls, doors..etc seem to move to. Especially in Skyrim and Defiance this happens alot. I wanna know if i broke my card? and if so would I be able to rma it?

Thanks in advance

Yes sounds like you have probably damaged it.

I have to ask, how did you "accidentally" put the GPU clock and power to their max? You have to agree to a special warning statement telling you what that section of the CCC program does just to access those controls.

A little bit of flickering in games is normal. Skyrim has glittery textures and flickery shadows galore, it's just a part of the game. It's possible that they've been occurring all along yet you have not noticed them because you were not looking for them. If your GPU is damaged you'll usually see very noticeable artifacts and image distortion.

^^ That is also true. Some amount of flickering is normal in games, it really all depends how much of it is happening and where to know if it is normal or not.

Well I just missclicked, I didn't want to click so high on the graph. I'm pretty sure it didn't occur before this happened, when i stand still and look to my shadows they seem to move in blocks, idk how to explain it well. So what what you're trying to say pinhedd is that if there are no artifacts or any other bad things my cart isn't damaged? Isn't it possible that it has only minor damage, what would also explain this flickering?

Edit: I just made a screenshot, http://tinypic.com/r/s3ghn6/8 in the right you can see the shadow being edgy, this edges move fast as i change the camera angle

You're most welcome. If you require further piece of mind, what you did was extremely unlikely to damage your GPU. Render it unstable, absolutely, but not damage it.
