"ethernet" doesnt have a valid ip configuration

So ive tried this already

Here is the situation, i just moved, i had no connectivity problems before. I use powerline for my ethernet connection. I have no knowledge about my roomates router/modem, my powerline is simply plugged into one of the ethernet slots and into the wall. When i try to troubleshoot the issue i get "ethernet" doesnt have a valid ip configuration.

I have a usb>wifi device which works fine.

Try hooking up your system directly to the router. If that works, go over the power line manual and try to re-set it all up since that is the issue if the system works fine directly on the router. Your plugs may also not work with the powerline adapter, they have to be on the same circuit.

That was actually my first assumption, that the wall sockets were not connected with each other, i have no way to verify this though. Its kind of difficult for me to jack in directly as i dont have a long ethernet cable and the router is in my roomates room, but ill try to get it done and get back to you.
