I followed the instructions posted by a website http://tipsandtricksforum.com/thread-210.html" target="_blank">
and was able to successfully set up an ad hoc server. It came up as Local Area Connection 4. I was also able to connect to it with my Windows 7 and it worked great! When I was done with it I wanted to turn it off so in the Network and Sharing Center>adapter settings I right clicked the Local Area Connection 4 and clicked disable. Now whenever I try to start the ad hoc again cmd gives me "The hosted network couldn't be started. The group or resource is not in the correct state to perform the requested operation." So I tried re-enabling the ad hoc connection the the Network and Sharing Center and the Local Area Connection 4 is no longer there. Please help me re-enable it. By the way I have the regular Windows 8.1.
