So basically I'm getting a new computer and I only play two games, CS:GO and Minecraft. I was wondering whether or not to get an i3 over an i5 or vice versa. And also I already have an R9 270x laying around that my brother gave to me, so what do you think? For minecraft, I have to load a lot of players in on multiplayer servers and I also record some gameplay.

For just playing those games, and i3 with a clock speed of 2.8 GHz or greater is plenty powerful. Since you host MC servers and record your games, though, I have to recommend an i5 at at least the aforementioned speed. The two extra cores will be a boon to your system, as you'll be able to host players and record while keeping your framerate up.

Alright thanks, but what i5 processor would you recommend?
