My computer is almost 6 years old, on december 26th it will be. I'm trying to convince my parents I need a new one because it drops frames constantly now during counter-strike, and loads web pages pretty slow. I'm also going to need it for school and it will last me until college..
Is there anyway I could even convince them to get me this? They think it is expensive but if they went and bought a dell one it would be the same price...

If you can convince them to buy you a new computer, then I would say to show them the differences in capabilities. But the best way is (if possible) make some money and buy it yourself, or get them to buy you one and when you have the money scrap that one and build your own.

Take a look at PC Part Picker

It's not quite what you had on newegg but it's compatible. I changed the case, added 4Gb RAM and some Thermal paste, even shaved a 100 bucks off.

Hope this helps

[Edit] I guess I took too long.
