at the risk of sounding dumb, what is the spu and the heatsink somethin or another where can they be found on my dell vostro 1500 laptap n how can i fix my computer do i have to replace the os?

a cpu is the processor . Its the brain and does all of the computing
Thy get hot when they are running so they need to be cooled . There will be a fan in your laptop blowing air over it to cool it .
If you turn off after even 30 seconds in BIOS it sounds like the cooler is not clamped down properly on the cpu .
In a laptop ...... probably needs to go to a Dell service center
