My motherboard went out with my PSU (thankfully that's all that died with it) and i bought an ASRock B75 Pro 3 M motherboard and i can't overclock my cpu nor does my RAM run at the proper speed (i have 1600Mhz RAM but it's running at 1333Mhz) and i was wondering if i bought a Z77 motherboard could i overclock and would my RAM run at the proper speed?

any information is much appreciated

Simple answer is yes you can OC with the "Z" series boards.

LOnger answer is Only the "Z" series motherboards have the Bios options to be able OC any Intel chip from that generation. Since you have the K series 2500 this would have been the best way to go because of intel's imposed limitations. the B and H series chipsets are basic only boards and are geared toward those with out the "k" series CPU's.

what about a P67 motherboard? that's what i had before it died and i can still buy one from newegg.com for pretty cheap if i can get the same performance for less then what it costs for a Z77 motherboard then wouldn't THAT be the better deal?

ok so one last question since you've already made clear that the Z versions of mother boards are good over clockers then what about the Z75 chipset? it's alot cheaper then the Z77 will i still get what i'm looking for in the Z75 chipset?

ok so your sure about P67? cause right now i'm looking at getting either

P67
this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157249&cm_re=P67-_-13-157-249-_-Product

Z75
this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157304&cm_re=Z75-_-13-157-304-_-Product

Z77

and the Z75 is the cheapest however i do like the P67's rear I/O with all the USB ports so if the P67 is great for overclocking then i think i might have found my new mobo (just to be clear i'm only overclocking my CPU cause i plan on getting a GTX 760)
