So I have a Gateway dx4831-01e computer which is running Windows 7 on a 1tb HDD (not sure what brand). It also has an EVGA Geforce GTX 650 2gb GDDR5. So I have two older HDDs (One 500gb and the other 160gb) and I was wondering if/how I can install them. Both of the older HDD's have Windows Vista installed and one may or may not (going to check it out soon just assume that it doesn't) have a virus. I have all supplies necassary I believe. (Sata cables and screws) So if someone could just explain to me how I could do it that'd be great.

Solution
its as simple as plugging them in and turning on the pc mate. if there sata just connect them to any available port, plug in the power and turn on the pc. they will be auto detected.
you may need to take ownership of them as they already have an o.s on them although your best bet would be to remove that data by deleting the drives primary partition and creating a new 1 so you start from scratch with 2 clean drives. 1s windows boots.

windows wont boot off the other drives because your main o.s wont have the needed boot code. so the pc will boot straight to windows and you can clean the drives up from there.
