I recently built my new machine (first time builder), it has a asus p8z77-v lx motherboard, 16 g of g skill ram (8gb x 2), a i7 3770k processor, and 500w corsair power supply. I recently attempted to install a asus striker gtx 760 video card, this step didn't go so well. I've tried everything to get this card running. I've cleaned and installed the drivers in safe mode, fresh install of the os, followed by fresh install of the video card drivers and mother board drivers. I tried the drivers from the asus and nvidia, different pcl slots, taking it out of secure boot, not sure what else to I could do. I'm at a loss here not really sure where to go from here. I want to make sure I've exhausted all possible options to fix the card before asking for a replacement under warranty. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I've recently updated my bios to the most recent version. I am able to get the machine to boot into normal windows when I have the gtx 760 deactivated in the device manager but if it is active it goes past bios and then crashes at the windows 8.1 login screen.

And what does the crash say. So if you deactivated it, is it loading anything with the onboard?? I take it this does have onboard video?

Look in the BIOS and see if theres an option to use it and onboard

And whats the point in deactivating it, if you want to use it / you installed it?

well i deactivated it so I could get back into windows and try different things the crash doesn't say anything screen goes black and shortly there after it restarts a few times until it prompts me to restart in safe mode. if windows is open (normal) and I activate it screen goes black then not much happens it may or may not restart its self on its own.
