I would like to experiment with transistors and found these 5-star rated ones on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/RioRand-100Pcs-Transistor-2N2222A... and have three questions.

1) What very simple thing can I make with them?
2) How do I connect them and make them stay together?
3) How do I supply electricity to them and avoid getting shocked myself?

Buy a small breadboard kit, they general come with a small board, components, and instructions on how to assemble a few things. Something like this will give you a lot more flexibility than raw parts

Try the resistor set with a Raspberry Pi. Those kits are specifically meant for such experimenting!

You can try this:

When you push the switch on the left one, the led will turn on, the one on the right is a NOT gate, it will turn the led when the switch is open.

Ps. Sorry for the bad quality ms paint drawing.
