I've finally decided to build my own gaming/editing/school desktop after a while. This is my list so far.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RfNrpg

I already have my GPU:

GPU: EVGA GTX 760 Super-clocked w/ ACX Cooling 2 GB

I need help finding a case that is portable, shorter than a height of 20 inches (with reasonable air flow), or at least a tall lighter case. With that case, I need suggestions for cooling. Preferably, I'd want the computer to run quiet.

This build is aimed to run next-gen games and older games at high settings nearing 60 fps at least.
Also to run video editing programs.
The entire build can't be more than $1,500.
If anyone suggests to change some of the parts on my list, do so please.

Thanks

firstly, while that seasonic psu is good, its probably a bit overkill and not great value, one of their lower end bronze 500w models would do. If you want a smaller case just keep in mind the coolermaster hyper212 is big. I probably wouldnt go watercooling if you want the case to be portable its a bit risky, so i think stick with air.
I have this case http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-cc9011051ww (but the spec 01 version but is basically the same. Its quite light but sturdy and not too large, very good airflow, but i dont know if it would fit the hyper 212 but there are shorter air coolers that would fit.

I'll use any CPU cooler you recommend, it doesn't have to be the 212. The PSU also doesn't have to be seasonic. I kind of just picked some of these parts by their rating. I don't know that much about cooling and PSUs

I would look at the i7-4770k for a processor. Newer than the 3770k, slightly more power efficient, and cheaper.

Either than that. Looks like a great build and should last you a while. The gpu might need to sub out quicker than anything else.

Lol I just got the gpu a few months ago. Technology moves amazingly fast. Pcpartpicker tells me the mobo and i7 4770k are incompatible with each other.

for overclocking
i7 3770K - Z77 mobo
i7 4770K- - Z87 mobo
i7 4790K - Z97 mobo

if you want i7 , get 4790K 4.0GHz/4.4GHz

I plan to keep my CPU at its stock speed. Should I get the i5 or i7? Is there a noticeable performance increase?

For games any modern Core i5 is enough even for GTX Titan . For video editing i5 is good too but since i7 has Hyperthreading (4 cores/8 threads) , it gives a boost of 30% in video editing over Core i5 .

Mainly focused on gaming. I thought about video editing, but I'd rather have better performance running a game instead of waiting for a video to render. I'm going to scratch this build and start a new list tomorrow. I don't really feel confident with this stuff.
