This is the outline for the PC I plan to build.
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/XMppD3

It will be used primarily for gaming on ultra settings on most games, but not completely maxed out. Games like crysis, skyrim with mods, and battlefield 4 are some examples. I want to keep the HDD as WD and the CPU as an intel one. I don't want to upgrade to an i7 as I won't be doing any hardcore video editing and I don't plan on Overclocking either. The budget is under $1000. Will this build be able to handle my gaming needs and is it somewhat future-proof? Thanks in advance.

A few questions/comments:
- Why the Micro ATX board, coupled with a Mid Tower ATX case?
- I HIGHLY suggest getting Windows 7 Pro 64bit over Windows 8. (I've used both operating systems quite extensively).
- Using an Ethernet connection is more stable for gaming. If your router isn't near you (mine is on the opposite side of my house :p), I recommend getting what's called a Powerline Adapter. You plug one into any wall outlet in your home and also to your router. Then the other into another wall outlet, and also into your computer. Here's the one I opted for: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0081FLFQE/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_T1
- ^ If that is out of the question, then I'd recommend a PCI-Express WiFi Adapter over USB. This my back-up NIC if I'm not connect via Ethernet: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007GMPZ0A/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_T1

Overall, your build looks solid.

Ok, sorry for the delayed reply. I prefer WD hard drives, I've had a bad history with barracuda, and I like the powerline adapter idea, but I might opt for a pci-e card instead and maybe get the adapter in the future. With the MOBO it seemed liked it had some decent perks for the price point, but is the H97 mobo worth upgrading to for the extra $20 or so dollars?

Also, with regards to the gpu, a lot of the benchmarks using the 280 showed similar, often times better performance than the 760, and it has 3gb instead of 2gb of memory. Any reasons why I should use 760 instead?
