Hello folks at Tom's hardware, i am new to this forum and this is my first post. i have installed the need for speed hot pursuit 2010 on my PC. On starting the game, during the main menu screen and intro, the fps was around 40 (max. fps allowed by my monitor is 60 fps) but, when I started a race, the fps dropped to 10.
I checked the games compatibility with my hardware at systemrequirementslab.com and my PC passed the recommended system requirements to run the game. I again started the game, lowered its texture quality and shadow quality, the fps increased to 12. I want it to run at atleast 25 to 30 fps. Please help me with this problem, i eagerly want to play the game.

My hardware specs:
Intel core-i3 540 3.06 GHz
4GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM
Nvidia GT 520 DDR3 2GB graphics
Intel DH55PJ motherboard
250GB seagate sata HDD
Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit
LG FLATRON 17.5inch monitor. Max resolution: 1366x768 and Max fps: 60

lowering texture quality and shadow quality will not give much more increase in fps. if you change resolution to 800x600 or lower you get about 15-20fps

Playing at 800x600 results in a box shaped window with black margins on all sides. I am getting a slight increase in fps when decreasing resolution to 1280x720.
What my point is, if my system meets the recommended system requirements of this game, then why is it running at such a low fps? Even battlefield 3 runs at 25 fps on this rig with medium settings. Do i have to install any patch?

hope it helps you..
i think all these due to your gt520, it may bottleneck the entire rig,of course some games are spared, thats why you got battlefield 3 @ 25fps.

Never buy a NVIDIA GT500 series; I bought one and it was the biggest mistake ever. Spoilt my entire computer.
