sata controller mode

i brought a new ssd cossair force LS 60gb yesterday.Technical person form the shop told me when i connect the ssd change the sata controller mode ide to ahci to best speed but when i change it windows crash after windows logo.

win 8.1 64bit

Did you reinstall windows on the SSD? Or move your windows from the HDD to SSD? If you moved it, windows is not set up for AHCI mode.

i chang the settings after install windows to ssd. Do i have to reinstall windows.

You cant change it if it was ide originally then change it to ahci after you install windows. It'll crash

It has to be on AHCI before you install windows
