Hi. I have an MSI 780 ti gaming that I paid $700 for a while back. It's $500 now on Newegg. I can either get a second for SLI or I can just buy two 970s for $700 and sell the 780 ti. I have a Carbide 500R case and Seasonic X series 1050W gold PSU so I'll be fine with two 780 ti in terms of power/heat.
It looks like the 780 ti is faster than the 970 but not by much and it has 4gigs which may be needed soon.

I'm playing on 1440p resolution and one 780 ti is good but not enough for me anymore. When I was playing on 1080p it was fine but 1440p takes more juice.

My build

Case- Carbide 500R
Mobo- MSI G45 Z87 gaming
CPU- i5 4670k stock =/ (noob)
RAM- Gskill Ripjaw 1600xmp 8 gig
PSU- Seasonic X 1050W gold
CPU cooler- Noctua NH-D14
SSD- Samsung 840 pro
2 HDDs
Monitor- Asus ROG Swift PG278Q

I'm leaning towards the two 970s, what do you think?

the extra gig of ram on the 970 and dx12 will come in handy. Should be plenty fast enough to handle 1440p too.

Sell your gtx 780 ti and buy 2 gtx 970's, they are more energy efficient and the extra vram is always welcome.
