I'm looking for a router that will allow any typeable character (as allowed by the OS, obviously this will limit which OS's may connect to the network without tweaking) in the SSID of the wireless network.
I've spent a bit of time searching around for this with no luck. Currently I have a Netgear WNDR3400 and when I type the apple symbol on my mac (?)(obviously isn't web-safe or because I'm on a windows machine right now, I can't view it correctly) and hit apply, it says that isn't allowed as an SSID. I do, however, have a friend who successfully set up this symbol on his router but I haven't been able to get in touch with him to figure out what type of router he has.
Unfortunately this isn't really something that networking companies include on their device specs
I would love a list of routers that will allow any character as typed by the OS so I can purchase one and make a ridiculous SSID

Thanks!
