I have a gaming desktop that has an r9 290x in it, and I am looking to run a 2560x1440 27" or more monitor on it. I would like to have at least 1440p resolution and at least 27". I have been reading reviews on all kinds of monitors, from the Asus PB278Q, Asus PA278Q, Viewsonic VP2772, Dell Ultrasharp, etc., and all of these monitors have extremely good color and nice displays but are not great for gaming according to the reviews (bad response times and ghosting of 16.5ms (no idea how bad that is)). I would like some input as to what is a good monitor choice. I would like extremely nice color properties and some sort of anti-glare, even if it is semi-gloss, as well as something that can do some gaming. I don't need anything for hardcore FPS gaming, just something that isn't going to produce ghosting effects. I purchased a Crossover AH-IPS glossy display and it was very poor quality, so it is being returned. Money is not a huge concern but around 700 would be ideal. If its more I can always find it cheaper than manufacturer on craigslist or eBay. If someone could share their input on a monitor that would meet this criteria, that would be awesome. Thank you ahead of time.

I agree that is a very good monitor, however, since the PA279Q has better color and only 1ms of response time difference, would that be a better option?

I had a question about the PB278Q but haven't been able to ask this, until now at least. On my current monitor, when I have a completely black image (just searched google images for black 2560x1440 wallpaper), the edges, and most significantly, the corners of the screen become cloudy, almost a light grey, when looked at from an angle of any sort. So, for example, if I have an all black screen and look perpendicular and directly in front of the bottom right corner, all the other corners sort of have a white cloudy effect caused by seeing the panel at an angle. Its not light bleed since it is so uniform, so I believe is something with the panel type. If you could test this and go to an all black image, is the image completely solid black with very little grey or color variance on the edges or corners? This drives me INSANE on my monitor and is the reason it is being returned. Its kind of hard to explain what it looks like, its essentially the black color becoming more grey or white. If you could test that out, it would be much appreciated. Thank you.
