How do update Chipset Drivers

How do I update my AMD 870 Chipset, and how do I find out what version is already installed via Device manager I cannot figure out what version is installed or if they have ever been updated.

Like any other motherboard driver, you get the chipset driver from the motherboard manufacturer's website.

To check what version chipset driver is currently installed you need to look in the Registry as that's one driver that's not listed in Device Manager. See post from hackerzc in this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/209590-30-which-chipset-driver-version-have

Note: If your system is working okay do not update the chipset driver or any other motherboard driver. Leave as is.
It is not essential to update drivers just for the sake of it.

Phillip Corcoran Couldn't have made it any clearer, though make sure you identify what your motherboard is prior so you get the right driver.

Yes, ive read that post but there is nothing like that on my pc I went to Asus site to my Mobo and downloaded the chipset ran it nothing happens ive gone to AMDs site downloaded the 14.4 chipset ran them nothing installs... even when I try to update my GPU I download the CCC version run it nothing happens it does a install thing but doesn't launch install manager or anything for my GPU the chipset drivers don't open anything I just click it and nothing.

I just recently re-did windows and wiped the whole hard drive is 0s to make sure it wasn't a embedded virus of some sort.

If you are getting stuttering and hard freezing in games this may be due to your hardware. Could you list your specs, games, and resolution.

((Edited: This issue happens with or without the Overclock so its not the overclock ive even reset my BIOs and cleared the CMOS to see if it was a BIOS/Overclock issue))
