R9 280x with the Thermaltake Smart SE 630w PSU

Solution

Yes you can run R90 280x on that PSU but the quality of the PSU is average.

R9 280X requires 30amps or more continuous current and a minimum of 550 watt PSU remember the ampere is more important than wattage.

well, for now im probably getting the MSI R9 270x along with any mid range +500W PSU, i just wanted to ask about the R9 280x as if anything happened and i managed to get the budget for it, who knows ^^

Dont plan on getting the r9 280x its 300$ increase your budget to 330$ and get the latest gtx 970 much much better than r9 280x its even 15-20% better than gtx 780 and r9 290 and can run on a 500 watt psu so get a 550 watt PSU from xfx and plan for gtx 970.

what about this one ?
SeaSonic ECO 600W PSU

it draws 250W , so 250 W/12V= 20.83A the card itself . the rest are precaution for the whole system

that would be waaaaaay more expensive than my current budget -in where im located- so i don't think the gtx 970 is even an option for me.
its either a R9 270x, GTX 760, R9 280x...thats why im checking the PSU required.
the SeaSonic ECO 600W PSU is good for the 280x ?

Much better choice.

Then i will say wait for mid october the gtx 960 is going to release by then and it would cost less than gtx 280x and will perform better than it with only 100 watt TDP means can run on a 400 watt PSU.
