Audio output being routed to microphone (FIXED 12-29-14)

Hello, I've got Realtek HD audio onboard my MSI motherboard. I've had this computer for 5 years now and this problem has been happening for as long as I can remember.

My microphone picks up any audio meant to go to my speakers. For Example: I have no microphone plugged into my system, but let's say I go on Skype, Teamspeak, Audio Recorder, anything that uses the mic, it picks up my audio output (music, system sounds, other people talking to me through Voice chat services) with perfect clarity (Mind you this is without a microphone even plugged in, and happens also when a mic is plugged in). Now to get around this problem, I can use a USB microphone and bypass the Realtek card completely, and that works just fine.

There are a few headsets I've been interested in but often they are intended to use the mic jack, and that just causes the problem I've stated above.

Was curious if anyone has knowledge of this problem or heard something similar. I've looked at a few forums posts about people with similar problems, but often people just ask if their mic is picking up audio from their speakers, and I assure it's not that, as it does this even without a microphone plugged in.

Kind Regards,

Nick

Edit: I've fixed it after roaming around on google for some time, it was quite simple. My Stereo mix was NOT muted in the Realtek Sound Manager. Sorry about that!
