Hello everyone, I'm having a problem on Win 8 that I'm getting crazy high ammounts of RAM usage, and I don't know where this is coming from.

I have 12GB's installed, 2x4, 2x2. In Dual Channel. My user on the computer is using about 1GB of ram with Chrome opened (which uses a crazy amount of ram, lols.) And nothing else much, no games, nothing.

But still, about 10GB's of ram are being used, and I have no idea where. No other users are logged into the computer.

Here's a screenshot: http://s29.postimg.org/f1pn4bwl3/screenshot_117.png

What can I do to diagnose this?

12GB of RAM CAN NOT run in dual channel.

2 x 1GB, 2 x 2GB, 4 x 2GB, any equal number of chips with equal storage capacity on each chip can run dual channel.

Anyway, start with a BIOS reset, then run a virus and malware scan.

EDIT : Just realized. Unless you are running 2x4GB + 2x2GB. :D

Yeah, it's on dual channel :p
Malware/Virus is on the first things I thought so I can a full scan with Bitdefender Total Security (I own a one year license) and it came up empty. ):

Bitdefender does a pretty good job.

Try the BIOS reset, then a BIOS update. Maybe just some sort of memory bug.

Could also be an application with a memory leak.

Unfortunately I can't see your image from work.

I reseted the bios to the default configurations and updated it, still getting the high ram usage.

I thought it may be a problem, but the problem is, on the list of memory usage on the resources monitor, it doesn't show what is taking up so much ram.

It could just be a bug in Windows or whatever open program you are running. I would start by installing a fresh copy of Windows instead of looking for the problem program.
