Hi guys, I was wondering if my PC is okay to play games and record them (such as "Lets play!" etc..)

AMD Athlon X2 64 6000+
AMD Radeon HD7770 1GB
4GB RAM (Not sure on freq or brand)
500GB partitioned (C: = Windows, D: = Steam and games)
400W PSU (need to upgrade due to it being noisy)
AM3+ Supported motherboard

My pc run games okay at max specs but when I come to record it it drops to about 25 FPS or even lower, I tried other recording and they are all the same. I don't like FRAPS because of it's high video space it takes up. Commonly I get audio lag (not in sync with the video)

So to be able to record gameplay smoothly and good quality could anyone recommend me a good video capture program and what components I need to upgrade, thank you in advance.

It's the HDD's fault. That HDD has to not only run a game, but also record the very same game in real time, so fraps [or whatever you are using for recording] will drop your fps in order to keep up with the recording. If you would run the game on one HDD and save the recording on another, you'll see an improvement.

PS: you need another physical HDD, not a partition. If you run the game on D: and save on C:, it is the same thing. So get yourself any small HDD, even an external one should do, and you will see a frame rise.
