Yep the MoBo supports the 280X, how good is it for gaming? Depends on CPU, you'd want to place a non-K i5 or Xeon or non-K i7 in it for CPU to not bottleneck the GPU.
The board will accommodate any GPU as long as it has a pcie slot. An unlocked cpu (or as referred to here as the "non k") won't bottneck anything , you would only worry about bottlenecks if you paired it with a lower end processor I.e Pentium and below.

The unlocked CPUs are 'K' versions, locked ones are non-K. Unlocked CPUs support OCing, but this board doesn't, no sense in going with K CPUs with B/H MoBos.
