Hi,

From asking in the graphics card forum, I have decided on upgrading my GTX 560Ti to a new Gigabyte G1 GTX970.

This is my current system:
GPU - GTX560Ti
Fans - Hyper212 Evo and Noctua NF-F12.
Motherboard - Asrock Z77 Extreme4.
CPU - i5 3570k
Case - Sonata III w/ a 500W Antec EarthWatts PSU.

I am going to buy a new case, which I have decided to be an S340 in order to fit the lengthy GPU.
Since my PSU came with the case, I'm not entirely sure if I can use it again, but thats not a problem since I've had the computer for at least 5 years and I've just upgraded just about everything thats on the MB. So, since my PSU is fairly old, I am also considering buying one since I need one for my S340.

This is where I need your help. Will I need to buy a new PSU/case? Or will the 500w/Sonata be enough for the new GPU?

edit: And if so, what PSU/Case would you recommend?

Hi,

I already know about the calculator, however I'm not that much of a computer guru and sometimes I'm not even sure if I'm right or not. If you can enlighten me please do.

I have 2 HDDS, one running at 4600RPM and the other being a Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM. I have 1 SDD Samsung 830.

I have an aftermarket case fan and a cpu cooler. Case fan being a Noctua F-12, and CPU cooler being Hyper212 Evo.
No lights. No Fan leds. 2 Ram sticks 2x4GB. Also have a headset, keyboard, mouse, and a surround system connected if thats required.

Also, I'd prefer to have this PSU for a few years. Could you suggest how many watts would be good for at least 4 years? Considering small upgrades here and there. Can you also suggest a PSU under $100? I'd prefer to buy it from Amazon in AUD.
