Ive bought an AMD A6 6400K 3.9mhz processor, along with a Gigabyte F2A55M-HD2 Motherboard. Do I need a power supply unit that can handle an APU - combining CPU and GPU?

Solution
300W for just powering an APU is even a lot, if you have something of decent quality over 200W your good, even still 200W for only powering those parts is quite a lot. If you ever decide to get a graphics card which you probably will, I suggest investing in a good 500W power supply.

If I am also interpreting it another way, you do need to buy a power supply for that build to run.
