Hey, i have a pretty old computer

Motherboard: Asus P5LD2-X/1333
CPU: Intel Celeron Dual Core E1200 [OC'd to 2.0GHz]
RAM: 2GB
GPU: Nvidia Geforce 9400 GT.

And i want to buy a new computer. I already bought some parts, and the next part i want to buy is a
NVidia GTX 750ti. Since my new PC is not done yet, i cannot test the GPU, and i must test it, because it's second hand.

Do you think a GTX 750ti would work placed on my setup? Only for a stress test to see if it's fine.

Also, if you could recommend me a stress test software, that'd be great.

Try it , no problem . You will just encounter gaming bottleneck .

The mobo has PCI-E x16 slot

With the current CPU , you cant achieve stress test indeed.

Just learned that the 750ti i want to buy has 6pin power supply. Can it work without it? I mention again, i am not going to game on this pc, i only want to stress test it to see if it's ok.

It should, as long as it has a pci-e slot

GTX 750 ti are meant to be powered only from PCI-E slot . But if you say it needs 6 pin power connector , so it s recommended to plug in such a connector . Which card is it ?

I wasn't aware the 750ti needed external power. If it does indeed use a 6 pin power connector, then yes you need to plug it in or it won't boot.

Probably they overclocked it a lot . Newegg says it needs 6 pin power connector . So , if the PSU doesnt have such , dont try it , though i guess it will boot .
