Hello. I am trying to find an answer to a new issue I am having. Following a new GPU a few weeks back, I decided to upgrade my PC with a few new parts.

My basic setup is

MB - Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 ATX AM3+
CPU - AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black 3.2GHz
Ram - G.Skill Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-2000
OCZ Fatal1ty 550W 80+ Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Antec NSK4482B ATX - Has two 120mm's
MSI Radeon R9 280X - added two weeks ago.

The computer seemed to be running much warmer so I decided to add two Antec 120mms, the Corsair H100i CPU cooling system and I bought a Thermaltake Smart 850W PSU.

The PSU and fans installed without issue. The H100i took some modding to get into the case, but I managed to make it fit. I hooked everything up back up and plugged it in.

I turned the PSU on and hit the power button. The fans on the GPU and H100i only moved about an inch and did not move again. I pressed power once more and not even the inch of movement could be replicated unless I unplugged the PSU and plugged it in again.

I've looked all around for anything blatantly placed incorrectly, but I am not seeing anything. I've unplugged everything and moved them from their hiding spots to see if the cables have any tears or breaks, but I do not see anything. All the parts were new.

Does anyone have an idea of what I may have done wrong? I can provide any more information asked of me.

Do you have both power connectors hooked up to the motherboard? The 24 pin and the 4/8 pin connector near the CPU. Make sure all power connections from the power supply are fully connected as well. Sometimes they could be out just a tiny bit, or be a little uneven. Your video card has 2 power connectors, and they both have to be hooked up to the power supply.

Have you tried your old power supply to see if your computer boots? Maybe the thermaltake is faulty. Your 550w should be enough to atleast test with. ;)
