Ok, so I'm trying to get my hands on a gtx 970 the asus one in particular, but they are out of stock everywhere. Does anyone have an idea of how long it will take to restock? The main thing I need help on is what cpu I should use. I need an 1155 since I already have the mobo. I don't want to go i7 because it is out of my budget. I was thinking 3570k, but is there a lower end 1155 that wouldn't bottleneck a gtx 970? Thanks :)

Solution
Any i5 from 3rd gen won't bottleneck the 970, go for K only with Z77 MoBo, otherwise any i5 would do. Also, if you can fork out for i5 3470k, I'd actually recommend the Xeon 1230 V2, 3.7Ghz on turbo is plenty for 970 and the HTs will be great for future gaming or any other multi core intensive task in general.

Solution
Any 3rd gen would work with Z77, either locked or unlocked.

Xeons are basically locked i7's without OCing ability or integrated graphics, and the price of 1230 v2 is quite similar to i5 K version, while the fact that it'll run flawlessly on almost any 3rd gen MoBo makes it worthy for a buy over i5 K versions, unless you have a Z77 MoBo (on which you can OC the i5-K).

HT means hyperthreads which are virtual cores thus giving it an edge over i5 (which does not have hyperthreads) in almost any multi core optmized task, and both- the i5 or Xeon, are plenty for the GPU.

@MeteorsRaining
I have a 2500k, considering a gtx 970 purchase. Would I experience a bottleneck?
