I've recently decided to build my first gaming pc and i ran into some problems. When i connect everything correctly(and yes i know you have to have the 24pin and 8pin) the mobo shows no sign of life. Its not the psu becuase i borrowed one from a friend and it does the same thing. I RMA's the mobo and got one back thats having the same problem. I'm thinking now that its the cpu because 2 bad mobos in a row is very unlikely. Anyone know whats wrong?

AMD FX-8350
Giigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Rev.4
Gigabyte 280x
Corsair H55 quiet edition
GSkills Sniper Series 8gb(4x2)
Corsair 750w bronze
Seagate Barracuda 1TB

I don't think it would be the CPU, the computer would still power on, but just wouldn't boot. This might sound like a really dumb question, but have you connected a fan to the CPU fan header? The other thing that springs to mind would be the front I/O panel not being correctly connected.

Sorry i forgot the cpu cooler(corsair H55 silent edition) and yes its connected. Also i didn't build it inside the case, i put the mobo on the top of the box. My friend is helping me build it too, and he has years of experience but he's never had a faulty mobo that just wouldn't turn on.
I already sent the mobo back and purchased another one(asus sabertooth 990fx rev 2.0) and i should arrive within the next couple of days, i really just asked this question because my 30 day return warranty from newegg runs out at the end of the week and i just want to make sure that its the mobo and not another part so i dont have to set up and RMA with that company which will take a lot longer to fix than newegg.
