Hi there,

Would really love some help here, it's been so long since i bought a diy PC and when i finally get one, i get annoyed.

So here's the problem:
My system tends to freeze and spike up(on DPC latency checker) whenever i install a new software on it & in some other isolated cases, it freezes for a quick 1-2 secs with a buzzing sound then it returns to normal. Sadlly I can't recall those isolated case.

PC Specification:
Asus B85- Pro Gamer
Intel Core i7 4790
Corsair RM850 PSU
CORSAIR 16gb Vengeance (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1600 CL9
Sapphire R9 290 4gb vapor-x (14.4 driver)
WD 2TB Black WD2003FZEX 3.5" INT SATA
Windows 7 64bit SP1 ULTIMATE

Things I have done:

  • ■RMA - Motherboard
    ■MEMtest (PASSED)
■Tried 13.12 driver on gfx card & couple of others, currently on 14.4.
■Swapped out Graphic card to my old HD7870
■Updated all intel INF, MEI, ASUS bios & all related drivers to the latest.
■Used Western Disk Data Life Diagnostic - (PASSED)

My next option is to try to RMA my processor chip, ram, gfx card, HDD, power supply. Have done all that i can on the hardware side, perhaps i should have went old school and did all those bottleneck test with the multipliers and such but sadly i didn't and didnt expect this annoying thing to happen.

Any input on this matter is greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much in advanced.

Does the buzzing sound still occur? You could check event viewer right after it happens under windows logs > system and windows logs > application and see if anything shows up in there, but if your system is buzzing that would most likely mean a hardware issue.... depends on what type of buzzing it is... could be video card "coil whine", HDD r/w head making noises, case fans making noise, etc

The sound apparently comes from my speakers. :(
