I picked up an old computer fromm a recycle center to use a a media server. Its an optiplex gx620 with an Intel 945g chip. I installed Ubuntu and got drivers for it. After that I didn't notice any difference it preformance. Is there anyway that I can see if the (integrated) graphics are working properly?
Thanks!

If there was a fault with the on-board graphics chip you wouldn't get a signal to the monitor.

I'm puzzled about your statement "After that I didn't notice any difference it performance".

After what? And compared to what?

After that by meaning I got the drivers for the integrated graphics. Compared to before and after I got the drivers. Is there no need for drivers for integrated graphics?

Yes, any graphics chip need a driver whether it's integrated or add-on.

But for the most popular integrated ones (most notably Intel chipsets which are very common), the operating system installs it's own driver if it finds a compatible one in it's driver store during OS installation.
