Going to buy a new gpu, but my monitor only has 1 VGA connection! So, should i buy a new monitor to connect the new gpu or just use an active adpater HDMI/DVI to VGA?

The gpu I'm going to buy is the GTX 970 btw ^^

Cheers

I've Gigabyte g1 gtx 970 but my old Samsung led monitor only supports vga.
So,
1. I first bought hdmi-vga adapter. It works really good & very good quality but after sometime resolution changes and on-off started on my monitor. This happens from 10 sec to hours then after monitor works again as before (I don't know why but its probably hdmi-vga adapter issue).

2. Then I bought dvi-i to vga adapter. No resolution & on-off issue with monitor BUT quality is lower, noise & bad interlace, scaling issue while gaming.(You could tell the diff. by only looking it).
PLUS your monitor will only active when windows drivers are loaded. Means no bios post screen, no advance start-up options before windows load
When I put my pc on sleep mode the annoying warning shows on monitor, 'no vga is connected'. Irritating!

3. I didn't use dvi-d to vga adapter yet.

So my experience tells me to buy new monitor with hdmi or dvi-d connection w/o wasting any time on future problems with these old vga connections. $Best of luck.$
