Hello, my second thread today and im thankful for all your help! I decided to change the thermal paste on my sapphire hd7950 dual x oc card today, got the heatsink off and found something rather worring, or atleast I think I have...

Ok now that you have seen the pictures, on photo 1 I circled what I believe to be memory without a thermal pad, but this memory chip makes no contact with the heatsink whatsoever, but I noticed on other cards that this chip had a thermal pad applied and made contac with the heatsink, is this just normal for my card?

The 2nd picture shows a chip with no thermal pad what so ever this cant be right?

the 3rd and 4th photo show a thermal pad placed at the bottom left corner of the gpu, the 4th photo shows whats underneath and im thinking it doesn't need to be there? But maybe it does im really not sure at all, I have contacted sapphire and im hoping they provide some information but if any of you guys could help me out it would be great, does there need to be a thermal pad on the one the 2 that don't have one? Is the one in 3rd phot meant to be there? As a precaution I have ordered some new thermal pads that are 1mm thick and 6K/mK what ever that might mean :) Will they be suitable for this card? I have this card maybe 2 weeks, and the only 2 games I have properly played are dayz mod and loadout campaign, no problems in loadout campaign but in dayz while it plays ok whenever I zoom in I get HUGE lag, possible graphics stutter, could this be in anyway related to missing thermal pads?
thanks all

Oh a plus I have fixed the huge lag/graphics stutter in dayz I have downloaded the latest drivers which may have helped and I have moved arma 2 onto my ssd and performance is so much better, maybe I need a new hard drive. :( Better than a new gpu though!
