Hello everyone,

I have a question about my motherboard, at the moment i am thinking about it to buy a new graphics card, but my motherboard has an 4.2 OpenGl version and new graphics cards at the moment have a version of 4.3, will this difference make conflicts?

I also have the same question about the BUS port on my mortherbord which is PCI express 2.0
but newer graphics cards have PCI express 3.0 .

my motherboard is an

Medion
MS-7797
versie 1.1

i hope you can help me with this.

Solution
1. Unless you plan on running both display adapters at the same time you're fine. Even if you do run both the least common denominator will prevail (OpenGL 4.2).

2. PCI Express 3.0 cards are backward compatible with 2.0 and will work just fine, albeit at the lower 2.0 bandwidth.
