Will games on a 1920x1080 monitor at 1366x768 resolution look the same as on a 1366x768 monitor on it's native resolution?

Sorry for the confusing title :)  I'm just wondering, i want to buy a 1920x1080 led monitor, but knowing my PC if i'll run them on its native resolution performance will suffer (my cpu is pentium e2200, but surprisingly i can run some descent games), so perhaps running at 1366x768 resolution is a solution? What do you think?

My gpu though isn't bad, radeon 6850, upgrading my whole pc would mean upgrading the mobo the cpu and the ram, which i feel guilty spending on

The resolution really depends on the graphics card, not on the CPU. It makes no difference to the CPU what the resolution is. It is the graphics card that must crank out the pixels.

Due to spefic pixel count TFT- LCD are doomed to produce their best picture only on their native resolution! on any lower one will always produce inferior picture quality! the better the interpolation method each monitor uses the closer the result will be.however always inferior!
