Just looking for a refresher on this as I found some vague answers a few years ago and then promptly forgot them.
I know that it is within the OEM license to re-install the copy of windows on a system with the exact same motherboard but what about installing it on a brand new computer provided that the old computer is no longer in use? In my case the HDD which I had it installed on is now a storage drive in a system with a completely different OEM copy of Win7 installed on it and the motherboard used was defective and is now in permanent storage. Is there any way at all that I can re-use that OEM license for a new PC with a completely different motherboard or is there nothing that I can do besides buy a new copy of Windows?
Thanks for any help I get.
