Hey all...I am considering dumping my pair of 6970s and getting a pair of R9 290's to put in my desktop. Currently, I have an i7-975 with 12gb RAM on a 1366 chipset. Is that sufficient to prevent processor bottlenecking with the new GPUs?

Thanks

3.6GHz on turbo is plenty for the cards, have you considered the GTX 970? Its cheaper, more energy efficient, more powerful than 290, and SLI of that (given you MoBo permits it) would be lot better than CF 290's in every possible way :)

Thanks. That is a great point about the 970's, but I would be buying the pair of 290's from a friend who upgrades every generation.
