accidentally installed wrong version of windows 7

Hi,

Just installed windows home accidentally on my windows pro machine (used the wrong disc) and now it won't take my serial number as it's the wrong version. Is there a way to change the install to pro or do I need to reinstall?

You could try the anytime upgrade and then select pro and put in your key and see if it will take it but not sure.

Otherwise you will have to reinstall.

Anytime upgrade works.
Select "I already have a key"
Enter the correct key from the PC label
It will say "invalid, upgrade failed"
Reboot
The system will now be upgraded, enter the key in the normal way and windows will activate normally.

Its a bit strange but it does work, thanks for your suggestion
