Plan on delidding my 4770k later this week I have some Prolimatech PK-1 on hand should I use that or get some of that clp liquid metal paste? Gonna be using a h100i with 4 fans now till I can budget out a full water cooling setup. Do I need any silicon to re mount the IHS? Gonna go with the vice block method looks simple enough...

The regulators are on the middle right side of the CPU (actually, the die) as how it's placed into the socket. So, as the print on the CPU as it's meant to be read or to the middle right of that bottom left arrow that distinguishes how to place the CPU in the socket. If you just hit it enough times to loosen it to pull them away from each other and not knock them off of each other, you won't have to worry about the IHS sliding over the die or regulators.

Just apply CLP with an artistry paintbrush slowly and carefully, if you accidentally get some on the regulators make sure to thoroughly clean them off with isopropyl.

CLP. Also, if you're not taping the PCB to the vice, don't clobber it off so the PCB goes flying somewhere and possibly damages it. Once you hit the block a couple times, you should get a feel to about how much force is necessary to loosen the components rather than knock them off of each other. And no, you don't need silicon, just align the IHS over the PCB when you reseat it under the socket bracket. This also makes it a lot simpler if you ever need to reapply LP, because word/video is that LP/LU will eventually dry up at some point with diminished effectiveness over time.
