Hello.

My computer specifications are:

RAM: G skill 16gb 2400mhz
CPU: Intel i7 4970k @ 4.0 < stock
Heatsink: Enermax t40 blacktwister

My computing seems to be running quite well, the temperature at idle is 30/45 degrees.
However, when I seem to play Arma 3 on standard settings it rises to 70-85 degrees, is this normal, is something wrong, when i play other games like CSS its like 5-65.. but aram 3 quite high.

I would appreciate if somebody could help, thank you.

Solution

im meausing using speccy.
my enermax heatsink is relatively firm, when i accidentally hit it with my hand it would spin a tiny bit or slide, and the bolts were tightned and it wouldnt completely be stiff and firm. i used the right amount of thermal paste also.

arma 3 is really cpu dependent and stretches your pc to the limits. those temps seem fine unless your pc crashes when playing arma 3 because that means that your cpu could be overheating. If its not crashing its fine. Sometimes my cpu will get to 94 c and its fine.

Hm okay then, yes I heard in the passed that it is quite cpu intensive. But are you sure my PC wont be okay like it wont damage to overheat incredibly high, what settings do you run arma 3 on, currently im running on standard and using intel hd graphics, so if i get the gtx 980 i hope it doesnt rise even more?

anyone else here with an opinion on this? would be helpful.
