Does anyone know if ASUS will provide warranty for free (replace/repair) if you fail to send in your proof of purchase?

This question is a little vague. I'll try my best.

Go to ASUS website and Read their RMA procedures, they will have a something stating weather having proof of purchase is necessary for the RMA or it is necessary to just speed up the process.

Generally a RMA consists of starting a Support Ticket. That Ticket is either Accepted or Denied. If Accepted you will be given a Label to print out for Factory use, you will have to buy postage. Remove any mods you have performed before sending back. Ship according to instructions. As long as your card is still under warranty, and you didn't do something stupid like put your card in the microwave chances are you are gonna be OK.

http://www.asus.com/support/images/pdf/e8549_nb-warranty-card_148x105mm_final_0827.pdf

• Enclose a copy of this completed warranty card and a copy of Your sales
invoice/receipt detailing the purchase of Your Product. (Please note: ASUS
reserves the right to request the original documents.) If You do not provide
the requested documents for warranty validation then the manufacture
date of the Product as recorded by ASUS will be deemed to be the start of
Warranty Period.

Ensure you have the following information readily available: your ASUS product’s model name, serial number, sales invoice/receipt with date of purchase and warranty card. You will be required to provide proof of purchase before warranty service can be performed.

Seems to say different thing on those 2 asus webpages

Here is my thoughts on it. If you gotta RMA your card, start the support Ticket process. Send what you can and be honest with them. Send in the card exactly as they say or to the best of your abilities. Hope for the best. It is better to be out some shipping with the possibility of getting a new card. Than to spend money on a new card when you could have possibly had a new one for free.

Used card or not if it is still within it's warranty, it is still within it's warranty.

I know this is an old topic. But for anyone wondering the same thing, and hitting this topic. No, ASUS customer support sucks. First they didn't want to provide any warranty because I had to go to the shop. Which was out of business. It took them a week to understand this.

Then I had to go to ASUS France because the shop bought it from a different country. There they told me that I was not a resident of ASUS France so I could not get any warranty.

Back in ASUS Benelux after another week they finally gave me permission to RMA.

After that they asked me for a proof of purchase -> my paypal receipt. (Paypal did not include any item description, so didn't count for them)

Then I told them about the warranty card stating that the warranty from the production date should be used. Which is valid until November 2017.

They still refused.

This case is quite simple for me. ASUS sucks, and I will never buy any product from them, ever again.
