CPU refusing to overclock

I have Intel Pentium G3258 3.2GHz 2 core CPU. I know that it is unlocked and my motherboard (MSI CSM-B85M-E45) supports it. I put the CPU ratio to 4000MHz up from stock 3200MHz. Any idea why this won't work?

Did you also increase things like cpu voltages, etc?

You need to supply the CPU more power if you want to overclock it. It could also be that it's unstable at that speed (800 Mhz is quite a jump). I'd recommend you try increments of 100 Mhz until you reach your upper limit. Remembering to increase the voltages a little bit every time too.

There's plenty of guides on the internet if you're not sure what settings you should be changing, etc. I'm a bit of a novice myself but the more I dabble in it the better I'm getting at it.

Practice makes perfect and all that jazz, lol.

What should I increase the CPU voltage to? Right now it is at 1.065V. Would it be safe to go up to like 1.0-1.2?

I'm not sure to be honest with you and I'd rather not tell you something that may damage your processor and motherboard.

Try Googling "Pentium G3258 overclock" and see what other people have done.
