Lately my desktop has been running really loud, even when nothing really is running. I was playing Watchdogs and the computer completely turned off on me. It will not turn back on. I'm not sure if the power supply is bad or what may have caused the computer to turn off. What are some possible causes that may have caused this along with solutions. I appreciate any help!

Ok, all you need is the 650w psu I posted.

I still suggest you clean out your system. Though your current psu is really bad from what I can tell. You don't need 1000w psu, what you need is a quality psu.

Ok, i'm going to leave you to it. This website gives me tons of trouble because of my cookie blocking. It's half impossible to use, and just ends up cycling pages, not taking posts, and refusing to progress...

Good luck. Make sure your rig is clean and fans are working.

Hello dconrad88,

You're PSU is the most likely the fault in this situation. Now, there are a lot of reasons why your computer might have fried your PSU. Yet, the most likely cause is that IF you have your computer plugged into a power bar, that is the worst decision you could ever do. If it is, when buying your next PSU, plug your computer straight into the wall to prevent and power failures or surges.

Hopefully your problem is solved,
Kolton Simpson.

If his computer is overheating...

It would be loud,

It would sooner or later shut off refusing to come back on until it cools down.

Before going out and buying a new PSU, make sure your computer isn't dirty. Make sure your CPU cooler is properly secured, make sure the thermal paste is fresh, make sure the CPU fan is working.

Do the free things before dropping money on a psu. ;)

What kind of system do you have?

You can't ask for suggestions without giving information.

I default to Seasonic myself. Get a X-series Seasonic and you'll be happy knowing you have a high quality PSU.

Look into these...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151102

Get a 650w - 750w one for a single GPU system with lots of room for oc'ing and possible 2nd card.

Get a 850w - 1050w for dual sli

get the 1200w one for triple sli
