Hello. I use GT70 barebone laptop. I have two 7200 RPM HDDs. One for the system and other for the storage purpose.
I seriously plan to buy a SSD because I really heard a lot good things from who has use it. I know SSDs' performance is tremendous and I heard that they are also very good for the battery life purpose.
My laptop's battery life is not great. Main problem is that the system has installed into 7200 RPM HDD.
As used person, I can fairly say that 5400 RPM disks much better choice for battery life. My previous HP laptop with 5400 RPM HDD can reach 2.30 to 3 hours battery runtimes. Same laptop with 7200 RPM can only reach 1.30 to 2 hours.
I heard that SSDs' effect on battery runtimes are almost identical to 5400 RPM disks. And they are certainly not poor as 5400 RPM HDDs. So I think to buy a SSD for the performance and also for battery life.

I got the same laptop and same battery. The difference is they got a Samsung 120 GB SSD. They reached 6 hours in Wi-Fi surfing with medium brightness!!! Just wow. And I can't even reach 3 hours...
Do SSDs have such big impact on battery life? I am certainly going to buy it if this reflects true results in the real life use. Any help will be appreciated. I especially expect help from who has laptop with a SSD. Thanks in advance.
