So I've been using my HP Pavilion Dv6 for quite a while now, and every once in a while a clicking sound will appear cominf from the bottom of the laptop. It clicks a few times and stops. Sometimes it doesn't do it at all, sometimes it does it for a while. I've ran a memtest. And it doesn't do it while under stress like downloading big files. It's really strange. I recorded it so it can be easily identified; https://soundcloud.com/kefkonic/laptop-clicks

Clicking sounds are usually hard drives .
Probably nothing to worry about

I had an intermittent clicking noise from my HP laptop and took it down to a local repair shop. It ended up being a fan that had to be replaced. I was amazed at how much dust had accumulated deep inside the laptop. I clean my machine regularly with a vacuum but apparently due to the design of HP, that did not do any good. If you want to try a cleaning on your own there are several youtube videos out there that may be of help.

Clicking will either be a fan or a hard drive. The fans will have a vent hole while the hard drive will be under one of the access panels. You can pick it up and easily listen to locate if it is the fan or the drive.

If it is a hard drive, a little bit of a click is nothing to worry about, but if starts getting very regular then backup all files asap.
