i'm having difficulties with my sound, and windows.
SOUND PROBLEM=My sound properties keeps disapearing, mic, speaker shows connected only when i'm connecting speakers. Device manager blinks showing speaker drivers connected/disconnected, no sound only play sound if i connect my wireless head phone via usb reciever.

TRIED: uninstalling->restart, installing drivers (realtek hd audio).....

WINDOWS problem: it wont start up in normal mode only in selective start up, it only spins for hrs, tried to do a chkdsk and it doesn't find problems, windows repair wont fix it. hd=1000g after format its only 910 then goes to 890+ after windows restore, purchased a brand new hd=1000g's it automatically went to 910g's. I'm not predudised but it seem that mid easrn guys just want u to purchase 300 bucks worth of warrenties when i told them i can't afford that atm they told me to stop waisting his time, even after purchasing a restore disk wich should have some type of support.
restore keeps commin up with a modified winre which this computer doesn't have.

It doesn't sound like he sold you a Restore Disk but rather a Repair Environment Disk (hence the RE)

Are you running windows 8 ?

Win8 yes. It puts a windows on but when downloading updates it has to reverse every time. It does the partitions and all its just not working right

RE is for repairing, not really for installing. Your gateway probably has a restore partition for that.
If you've lost the recovery partition and did not make disks when you got the PC then you might have to contact Gateway and purchase replacement disks.
