Hi,
About four days ago I got a Netgear N900 router and haven't had many issues with it. My desktop generally was connected to the internet through wireless, but I decided that it would change and I made a direct line from my router to my PC. If I'm on wireless there are no issues with disconnecting but it has lag. If I'm using the wired connect about after an ten minutes to an hour it disconnects from the internet and I either need to go to my wireless connection or reboot my computer. Help?

My computer is a Windows 7 Home Edition, (That's at least think it's called)

*Also, in the past I've been using a wireless connection and not attempted a wired one. And sorry if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about, I'm just really confused and haven't found a working solution for this yet.

EDIT:
Might have found a solution I'm not too sure. I swapped out my Ethernet cords and that might have fixed it. I won't know for a bit.

Yes, first step is to swap out the Ethernet cable, to make sure a new cable is reinserted properly, and to reboot the computer and the modem.

As an FYI, Windows 7 Home Edition is the operating system, not the computer. The computer is the brand and model of the actual physical computer you have.
